Sorry, I've been off my game, but I'm back posting. Happy?

As it turns out, I have news on the new Killing Joke cd, as well as a new release date for the Revolting Cocks cd and there's even some Devo news for the kiddies!

The new Killing Joke cd is called Hosannas From the Basements of Hell and is set to be released on March 3rd. Paul Raven from KJ made some choice comments about the band's experience opening up for Motley Crue this past summer. He told blabbermouth.net, "The tour was a (insert f-bomb) joke and we hated it." Read the juicy comments here: http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=46113

Meanwhile, there's a new release date for the upcoming Revolting Cocks cd. Cocked & Loaded was due on February 14th, which would have been a great Valentine's Day release, however the Cocks have now changed the release date to March 7th. Well, let's hope it's worth the wait. The Revolting Cocks will join Ministry on a big world tour that kicks off in May. Don't get too excited yet though...a Detroit date has not yet been announced.

Gather round! Devo is going to release a new cd in March, and the kiddies are gonna love it. Apparently the members of Devo got together in the recording studio and decided to re-record some of the old Devo faves. The twist is, they got a bunch of kids to sing the lyrics. Devo die-hards, not to worry, they have also tacked on two new songs that they wrote last year, so there should be something for everyone on the release. Devo 2.0 will be released on March 17th, and will also include a dvd with bonus footage, videos, interviews, etc.

Let me just say that Richard Ashcroft rules. He used to be the lead singer for one of my favorite bands of all time, the Verve. Ah...the Verve. What an amazing band. I had the great fortune to see them multiple times over the years, but I think the best Verve performances were the ones they did at the Lollapalooza festival in 1994. That was the year that the Smashing Pumpkins headlined 4 Lollapalooza shows at Pine Knob (now DTE.) The Verve ended up playing the second stage for the series of dates, and their enchanting, hypnotic music fit just perfectly with the grassy, peaceful backdrop. Truly amazing.

After the Verve broke up in 1998 Ashcroft started working on his solo career. He released two solo cds, Alone With Everybody (2000) and Human Condition (2003). Now Ashcroft is readying his third cd, Keys to the World. Look for this one to hit stores in January. He'll be in North America in the winter opening up some of the shows on the Coldplay tour, but alas, he will not be opening up the Detroit date.

On this day in 2000, Robert Buck, guitarist for 10,000 Maniacs died from liver failure. He was 42 years old.

Bono has been crowned the Person of the Year by Time Magazine. Well, ok, he had to share the honor with Bill and Melinda Gates, but still...person of the year. But why? What were they thinking? According to Time, Bono was chosen because he's "the rocker who has made debt reduction sexy."

Check out the magazine cover featuring Bono, Bill & Melinda here: http://www.time.com/time/

Killing Joke's Geordie Walker was born on this day in 1958. Why not pick up a Killing Joke cd and celebrate? I'd highly recommend the 1985 cd, Night Time.

Look for a new Killing Joke cd in the spring.

The date, 1977. The city, NYC. Elvis Costello pulled a fast one on Saturday Night Live. Prior to his appearance he had been warned not to perform 'Radio, Radio.' Elvis dutifully went on stage, started to play "Less Than Zero" then stopped the song and launched into 'Radio, Radio." It was truly a memorable SNL moment.

Yep, the first post. The goal here will be to keep this updated as often as possible, so check back and check back often. Or suffer the wrath.
