On Time Warp this morning I played "Supernaut" from 1000 Homo DJs. At the time I made the comment that the version with Trent Reznor on vocals was never released commercially. Well, I was wrong. Danielle e-mailed to say that the Trent version is available on the Wax Trax Black Box (boxed set) that came out in 1994.

Thanks Danielle! And sorry for the misinformation!

I posted this on my other blog recently, but you might get a laugh out of it as well. The Gray Kid did a spoof/Weird Al-esque doctoring of the Justin Timberlake song "Sexyback." This new, improved version is called "Paxilback." Check it out on youtube.

FYI: Paxil is a SSRI--selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor--and is widely used to treat depression, obsessive compulsive disorder and other neurological afflictions.

Scooter Ward from Cold has a new title for his solo project. The project previously had the working title of the Witch, but now Scooter has opted for the new moniker When November Falls. The debut cd from the project is expected out in the spring, but in the meantime you can check out some demos from When November Falls on myspace.

From Chart Attack:

"He decided to do a Team Sleep tour right in the middle of the process of working on our record, so that was about six months that was knocked out while we weren't doing anything.

"We were all pretty pissed. We almost kicked him out of the band at one point. We worked everything out, but for a while it was frustrating for all of us. We all did not like him at all."

Travis Barker, drummer for +44 (ex-Blink 182), recently broke his arm while filming a video. Barker posted a message on his myspace page to explain the details of his injury.

From Travis' myspace page:

SO AS OF NOW I WONT BE PLAYING ON SATURDAY WITH AM OR ANY OF THE UPCOMING +44 SHOWS. I HAD THE WORST PAIN IN MY ARM THE DAY AFTER WE FILMED OUR VIDEO AND I REALLY THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT. WE PLAYED FOR 8 HRS LIKE I USUALLY DO BUT I GUESS THIS TIME WAS DIFFERENT.

I THEN PLAYED OUR ENTIRE EUROPEAN LEG OF OUR PROMO TOUR IN THE WORST PAIN I'VE EXPERIENCED EVER. I GOT X-RAYS IN LONDON BY AN URGENT CARE DOCTOR THAT SAID HE COULDNT DETERMINE WHAT EXACTLY HAD HAPPENED.

WHEN I GOT BACK TO LA I SAW ANOTHER DOCTOR AND HAD EVERY TEST POSSIBLE TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON IN MY ARM. THE MRI/X-RAY SHOWED I'D BEEN PLAYING WITH A BROKEN ARM FOR 3 WEEKS AND OR POSSIBLE TUMOR IN MY ARM.

IM AT A LOSS OF WORDS, JUST TAKING EVERYTHING ONE DAY AT A TIME. I'VE BEEN TOLD TO EAT MEAT AND CHANGE MY DIET(IVE BEEN VEGETARIAN FOR 16 YEARS) CAUSE ITS MAKING MY BONES WEAK. I NEVER THOUGHT I'D BREAK A BONE FROM PLAYING MY DRUMS TOO HARD/ TOO LONG...EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON.

I'M GONNA SPEND THE NEXT 6 WEEKS WITH MY BABIES AND PRODUCING....SEE YOU @ A SHOW SOON.PS- IM ATTEMPTING TO LEARN THE SET WITH ONE ARM FOR +44 SHOWS SO DON'T COUNT ME OUT YET....I TRY FOR THE FIRST TIME TONIGHT:)

Definitive ‘Best Of’ On The Way

Sixteen of U2’s best known songs and two new tracks are on a single ‘Best of” CD released next month. No word on a title for the album yet nor what the track-listing is but the release date is set for November 20th.

Ahead of the new collection, the U2/Green Day version of The Skids’ track ‘The Saints Are Coming’ will be released as a digital download on 30th October and as a CD single on 6th November. Proceeds from ‘The Saints’ will benefit Music Rising

The bands’ debuted the song live at the re-opening of the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans last Monday. Catch a stream of the live version here where it is also available for US-only download. More news on the album – including the tracklisting – as soon as we get it!
