Blue October is coming to town May 16th at the Emerald Theater. The 89x internet pre-sale kicks off tomorrow (March 2nd) at 10am through 89xradio.com. The rest of the tickets will be available through Ticketmaster starting Friday, March 6th at 5pm.

Blue October's new cd, Approaching Normal is set to drop March 24th.
Morrissey fell ill last week and was forced to postpone the launch of his North American tour. Morrissey hasn't decided whether he'll make up the postponed dates later in the year, but be rest assured that the March 31st show at the Michigan Theater will go on as planned.

Morrissey's solo cd, Years of Refusal, is out now.
Fans of the Jesus Lizard rejoice! A boxset titled Inch will be released on Record Store Day*, April 18th. Inch will be available exclusively at independent record stores, so if you want a copy, make sure to visit an indie store.

Jane's Addiction will also be releasing Nothing's Shocking and Ritual De Lo Habitual on vinyl for Record Store Day.

*The idea behind Record Store Day is for you to get your butt out of the house and go inside a real record store to (hopefully) buy physical product.
Jane's Addiction will release a rarities boxset on April 21st. A Cabinet of Curiosities will contain 3 cds and 1 dvd. The cd portion will contain all of their unreleased demos from 1986-1987, as well as live tracks, rarities and more. The dvd portion will be the documentary Soul Kiss (previously unavailable on dvd) as well as some unedited videos and home movies. The boxset will come in a wooden case (kinda like a cabinet).

Jane's Addiction will be hitting the road in the late spring for a co-headline tour with Nine Inch Nails. There will be a Detroit date, so keep it on 89x for the official announcement.
Dinosaur Jr. will release a new cd in the summer. The band has decided to take it to the road and test out their new material before releasing the new cd. There won't be a Detroit date, however if you're in the mood to travel you can check them out April 9th at the Small Planet in East Lansing. As an added bonus, if you buy a ticket to any of the shows on this tour, you score two free Dinosaur Jr downloads (including one brand new song). More details are provided here.
XTC's "project" Dukes of Stratosphear will reissue the EP 25 O'Clock and the full length cd, Psonic Psunspot, next month. Both of these releases will be available separately on April 7th.
Midnight Oil will reunite next month for a benefit concert in Australia. The Sound Relief concert will raise money for the recent bush fire victims and victims' families. Coldplay, Kings of Leon, Jet, Jack Johnson, Wolfmother and Hoodoo Gurus are also scheduled to play the benefit.
Bob Mould is set to release a new cd titled Life & Times on April 7th. Mould has set up a handful of dates for the spring and is expected to launch a full scale tour (with a full backing band) in the fall.
