Godsmack
Godsmack has put together another webisode documenting the making of the forthcoming cd, the Oracle, which is due May 4th. Rumors have been swirling that the new single, "Cryin' Like a Bitch" was written about Nikki Sixx (Godsmack toured on Crue Fest last year and didn't have a whole lot of positive things to say about Motley Crue). The band's latest webisode seems to confirm the single was inspired by Crue Fest. Watch below:

Pulp--Bad Cover Version
Since everyone's been subjected to the horrifying "We Are the World" sequel, I figured it might be a good time to revisit Pulp's "Bad Cover Version." If you haven't seen it, it's a spoof on all the celebrity charity songs/videos--and take note, all the "artists" seen in the video are actually celebrity impersonators. The official video was pulled from youtube due to issues from the celebrities depicted in the video.

Chad Gilbert
Chad Gilbert from New Found Glory has written some solo songs and is giving them away for free on his new official website. Here's what Gilbert has to say about the material:
My name is Chad Gilbert and these are my songs.
I have been writing them over the last couple of years and decided it was time to share them.
Most of these songs were recorded alongside with one of my best friends, Elgin James, who I consider to be the other full time Whats Eating Gilbert member. I also plan on doing fun collaborations with other musicians.
I will be releasing songs on this website for free to download randomly throughout the months to come, so keep visiting the site for updates and downloads.

Megadeth/Slayer tour rescheduled
Megadeth & Slayer have announced their rescheduled tour dates for their co-headline tour. The bands were supposed to hit the road together for a winter tour, however dates were postponed due to Tom Araya's (Slayer's vocalist) back surgery.
New dates have been announced, and the rescheduled Detroit date will be August 19th at Joe Louis Arena. If you held a ticket to the earlier date it will be honored.
Here's more info on the situation from the official press release:
The American Carnage Tour, originally scheduled to take place in January and February, had to be put on hold due to Slayer's vocalist/bassist, Tom Araya's ongoing, minimally-invasive treatments for what was diagnosed as a Cervical Radiculopathy, an occupational hazard for the rocker who is known for aggressively swinging his long mane of hair while performing. Right after the first of the year, Araya made the difficult decision to undergo a surgical procedure, called an Anterior Cervical Discectomy with Fusion, a relatively routine practice with an excellent recovery rate. That surgery took place early last week.

"The doctors said that Tom's surgery went very smoothly and was a resounding success," said Rick Sales, long-time Slayer manager. "He's home now, doing really well, and he said the numbness in his fingers had already diminished considerably."
