Courtney Love has recanted her comment about not wanting to be known as Courtney Love. She was apparently joking about the name change, or at the very least, she's sobered up now.

CLo has been making the rounds doing a lot of press for the new Hole cd, Nobody's Daughter, which drops this Tuesday. Her latest comments about having a sexual escapade with Billy Corgan elicited this tweet from Corgan himself:

You know, if you are gonna recall sexual debauchery, at least try to get the year right.

Awesome.

According to this report, Courtney Love has told music zine NME, that she no longer wants to be known as Courtney Love, instead she prefers to be called Courtney Michelle now. She went on to say she's "sick"of answering questions about the late Kurt Cobain, because she's "not his spokesman." Courtney was also quoted as saying, "I don't know what he'd be like now, he could be into society girls, he could be into fat girls, he could be homosexual. We don't know, he died at 27."

Yesterday Blur released a limited 7 inch single for Record Store Day. "Fool's Day" is a new song--it was recorded in early April. Yesterday the 7 inch sold out quickly, and now the band wants to give YOU a copy (or at least a mp3) for FREE. Here's the statement the band posted on their site:

Blur’s new song Fool’s Day recorded especially for Record Store Day has sold out on limited edition 7 inch vinyl record. Fool’s Day was available across the UK at independent music retailers participating in Record Store Day. 1000 7 inch vinyl copies were pressed.

Blur’s manager Chris Morrison has said it is important that the song was made available to fans legally. "To avoid fans having to illegally obtain an inferior copy of this track from pirate sites – we have made it freely available through the band’s website".
