Korn's new cd, Korn III: Remember Who You Are drops on Tuesday. To celebrate this important event, Korn will be streaming a concert from inside a crop circle. From the official Korn press release:

Korn is once again reinventing itself and doing something completely innovative, nine albums and two decades into its incredible career. The band will perform for an hour and twenty minutes inside the mysterious crop circle that was recently revealed in the final installment of a viral web campaign.

The concert event, which is a first for a rock band, takes inspiration from the eerie atmosphere of Pink Floyd’s legendary “Live at Pompei.” The concert will make its North American broadcast premiere on HDNet on Sunday, July 11 at 8 PM ET and will have a worldwide online premiere on Monday, July 12 via MySpace in countries all over the world.

Read more about this event here.

And don't miss Korn on the Mayhem Festival August 6th at DTE.

Brandon Flowers will release his solo debut cd, Flamingo, September 14th. The video for the first single, "Crossfire" can be viewed below:

Here's a "behind the scenes" look at the making of "Crossfire":

Meanwhile, Killers drummer Ronnie Vannucci told musicradar that the band will regroup, "when everyone's had chance to do a little writing and we'll all get back into the garage again and put our heads together." Read the entire interview with Vannucci here.
A new Linkin Park cd, A Thousand Suns, is set to drop on September 14th. The first single, "the Catalyst" will be released on August 2nd. The band is also offering YOU the chance to appear on their new cd. From Mike Shinoda's blog:

Beginning tomorrow, July 9th, we’re teaming up with MySpace for “Linkin Park, Featuring You,” a contest which gives you the one-of-a-kind opportunity to be on our new album. We’ll be giving you some audio from “The Catalyst,” and you get to take it from there; you can remix the parts, write something over them, or mute stuff and write something totally new. We may choose a remix of the song, and put it on the album…or, we may choose an amazing keyboardist, string quartet, guitarist, percussion group, or other musician, and invite them into the studio to play on one of our songs. No matter what instrument you play, you can win. We’re open to anything good. All we ask is that you include any audible portion of any one of our stems in your submission.

Incubus' lead singer Brandon Boyd is set to release his solo cd, the Wild Trapeze, via iTunes on Tuesday. Boyd has posted a lengthy statement about the new cd on his facebook page. Here's an excerpt from the page:

When I initially allowed the idea of a solo album into my conscious mind, I figured I would be writing a bunch of music that other musicians would help me interpret and record. At which point I would do what I did best and take it from there. I soon began to understand that my expectations as to how this would emerge were so off base, that it would make my head spin. Not only do I not know that many musicians, I was hard pressed to find anyone who I wanted to work with other than the guys from my band! A strange quandary to say the least. It was and is not my intention to "move on" from Incubus. There is too much we have yet to uncover creatively and we still have too much fun making music together to employ that notion. But I have never considered myself a musician, truth be told. I always saw myself as a lyricist and a singer. So now I had presented myself with the daunting challenge of making an album without “musicians”. Hmmm.
