Porcelain Raft

The debut cd from Italian composer Mauro Remiddi's new project, Porcelain Raft dropped yesterday. Remiddi created the record alone in Brooklyn, and revealed in a post on his blog how Strange Weekend took shape:

I had this big piece of paper in front of me while recording, I would write notes and ideas related to the songs and the album.

‘Never let the dust settle on anything, move things around’ was the first sentence I wrote on that piece of paper. …the last note I wrote reads ‘make the dust rush upwards’.

Remiddi has hired a full band and just launched a world tour in support of Strange Weekend. Unfortunately the U.S. portion of the tour is dreadfully short, but if Porcelain Raft is coming to your town be sure to check 'em out.
