According to a report in Guerrilla Candy, a new Mad Season album is in the works, and will reportedly feature Mark Lanegan on vocals. The source of the scoop was Mad Season's Barrett Martin, who revealed the info last week during a Q & A session with Seattle radio personality Marco Collins. Martin confirmed a new Mad Season album is being recorded and will include songs with Lanegan on lead vocals. The songs featuring Lanegan were written years ago and were originally intended for Layne Staley to sing. No word on when to expect the new album. Read the full report in Guerrilla Candy.
Mad Season released their first and only record in 1994 and featured Alice In Chains' vocalist Layne Staley, Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, Walkabouts' bassist John Baker Saunders, and Screaming Trees' drummer Barrett Martin. McCready and Martin are the only surviving members of Mad Season--Saunders died in 1999, and Staley died in 2002.
