Swedish synth-punk band Holograms released their debut self-titled album in July and kicked off their first set of U.S. dates over the weekend. The band's show at Manhattan's Mercury Lounge started off with drama - according to a review in CMJ, the band had some problems with their equipment leading to a few tense moments onstage:
"Fingers were pointed. Words were exchanged. At one point the drummer made a fist, but no punches were thrown. It was intense. For a few minutes I began to think the show might not happen at all..."
The show did go on, although it was without the band's synthesizer! It appears that they've gotten all the technical issues sorted out now, and things are in working order. Don't miss Holograms live on the road this month (dates listed below), and catch up with Holograms on their website and Facebook.
