The nominees for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class of 2013 were announced today. Kraftwerk, Rush, Deep Purple, Donna Summer, Joan Jett, Heart, Chic, and Public Enemy were among the 15 nominees. For the first time ever fans can participate in the selection process by voting for their favorite nominee in an online poll through December 4th. The five artists who receive the most votes will be added to a "fan ballot" which will be tallied along with the other industry insider ballots to determine the inductees. The inductees for the class of 2013 will be announced in December and the induction ceremony takes place in April.
