Every now and then an album comes around that is totally worthy of the hype. The debut LP from Savages, Silence Yourself, is one of those albums. The London band formed in 2011 and to date has only released one single in the U.K., but that was enough to get the British media aflutter. The buzz moved stateside this spring after Savages appeared at SXSW and Coachella, and blew music journalists away with their energetic live show. Matador Records wisely snapped up the band and release Silence Yourself on May 7th. The album is streaming in full this week ahead of its release over at the band's official site, and should be considered mandatory listening, especially for fans of Siouxsie & the Banshees and PJ Harvey.
