Franz Ferdinand are back today with a new album Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action! It seems like ages since the four piece released a new album, but Alex Kapranos revealed the band wanted to only make a record when they felt it was necessary and when the time was right. And indeed the time was right.  Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action took about a year and a half to record, and most of the songs on the album were road tested, making their live debut in one form or another at gigs over the last year.  In some cases lyrics were altered and song titles were eventually edited (for instance, the early version of "Love Illumination" was originally titled "Blackpool Illuminati" and "Bullet" was shortened from "I'll Never Get Your Bullet Out Of My Head").

Right Thought, Right Words, Right Action features the awesomely fantastic lead single, "Right Action," (the song was inspired by and includes lyrics from a postcard Kapranos found in London), as well as the follow up single, "Love Illumination."  The album is another non-stop assault of fun dance grooves, so if you're already a fan, you'll welcome Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action with open arms.  If you haven't gotten bit by the Franz Ferdinand bug yet, it sure is a good (and right) place to start.

Purchase Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action from iTunes, Amazon, or Domino Records. The limited edition deluxe version of the album comes with a bonus live disc titled Right Notes, Right Words, Wrong Order.
