According to a new report in Billboard, U2 are looking to announce details surrounding their new album during the Superbowl telecast. From the article:
"U2 is readying a new album for tentative release in April, Billboard has learned, and is shopping for brand partners to announce the new project via a Super Bowl commercial."
U2 have been busy working on the follow up to 2009's No Line on the Horizon. Bono revealed in a recent interview that U2 had been writing music that he described as "very different, very fresh sound...beautiful songs, big hooks." For more on that interview with Bono click here.
Though the new U2 album won't be out until sometime next year, the band will be releasing a brand new single for Black Friday Record Store Day (November 29th). "Ordinary Love" was recorded for the soundtrack to Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom and will be released as a 10" single b/w a new recording of "Breathe." For more on the release click here.
