As the story goes, Ron and Russell Mael of Sparks met Franz Ferdinand years ago in Los Angeles when they (FF) were touring behind their debut album. Soon after the sextet recorded a few demos together, but nothing ever came of the sessions due to schedules, etc. Years later Sparks and Franz revisited the idea of recording together, and not long afterward they booked studio time and recorded a full album over the span of two weeks. The album, FFS, finally came out in June and it's everything you'd expect -- it's an lively, quirky, and incredibly fun listen. If you enjoy either Sparks or Franz Ferdinand, you owe it to yourself to take a listen to FFS.
