Lush return with their first new set of songs since 1996! The band's four song EP, Blind Spot, features the lead track "Out Of Control" which has been described as "Lush on form and sounding like 20 years haven't passed." The EP was recorded last summer with producers Daniel Hunt (Ladytron) and Jim Abbiss. So far Blind Spot doesn't have an official North American release but it'll drop in the U.K. on April 15th. This year's Record Store Day takes place worldwide on April 16th, so it's quite likely Lush will be releasing a special edition of the EP (or perhaps a limited edition single) for RSD. View the tracklisting for Blind Spot below and pre-order the import (available on 10" or CD) here, here, or here.

David Bowie has died at the age of 69 after an 18 month battle with cancer. The shocking news was delivered via Bowie's official website and confirmed separately by his son Duncan Jones:

"David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief."

His January 10th death seems so unbelievable as Bowie just released his remarkable 28th studio record, Blackstar on January 8th, the day of his 69th birthday. He had also recently co-written the stage production Lazarus, based on The Man Who Fell To Earth, the 1976 film starring Bowie.

Bowie was always ahead of his time, breaking new ground with every endeavor, be it music, film, art, and fashion. The world has lost a true pioneer -- a creative genius, legend, and icon.

R.I.P. David Bowie. Thank you for your art.

David Bowie released his exquisite, experimental, and very Bowie new album Blackstar yesterday. Bowie, who turned 69 yesterday, clearly shows no signs of stopping, either musically or creatively.  At this point in his career he could record an album full of belches and probably get away with it, but instead he keeps concocting thought-provoking and magnificent music. Enjoy a full stream of Blackstar below courtesy of Bowie's official channel.
