Radiohead

Onto my next record in the 'Best Of 2011' series: Surprise, it's a Radiohead release!

Back in February Radiohead released a new song and video, "Lotus Flower," and we all had a good chuckle at Thom Yorke's dancing skills.

Days later Radiohead released The King Of Limbs digitally. The incredibly short record clocked in at 37 minutes, leaving some fans to speculate there was another new release on the way in May. May's release turned out to be the newspaper edition of the record, and while it definitely was packaged beautifully, there wasn't any new material.

Overall it seemed fans were disappointed because The King Of Limbs is an electronic-ish Radiohead record--those who have been waiting for The Bends Part 2 were yet again let down and left to sulk. Sorry.

Sure, it's not the Bends Part 2. It's not the best Radiohead record ever made either. But The King Of Limbs landed on my best of list, if for no other reason than for their amazingly beautiful song "Codex" which is now one of my all time favorite Radiohead songs:

By the way, if you missed it, Deadmau5 covered the song recently.

Listen to the rest of The King Of Limbs here. If you like the record, keep in mind Radiohead also released a double disc remix record for The King Of Limbs. You can still listen to the remixes and purchase the cd here.
