Yes, Hook is still bitter about his ex-bandmates using the New Order name--but it's worth checking out the article to read his comments about Joy Division's albums. Hook said he's only now realizing what masterpieces those albums were. Yes, he's only figuring that out now apparently! He revealed that he and Bernard Sumner didn't really like the Joy Division 'sound' at the time:
"...everyone else thought it was great so we went along with it, but we were upset and it stayed with me for years; remember we were ignoring Joy Division throughout New Order – never listened to it"
“It wasn’t until I came to transcribe the LP that I realised what incredible work he’d (Martin Hannett) done, especially when you consider the equipment he was using, which in many ways was almost barbaric – two-inch tape and analogue effects. We didn’t realise how good everyone working around us was at the time, we were just daft kids looking to play really. That has dawned on me recently.”
