The Fall make live return with Mark E. Smith performing in wheelchair

Back in August, The Fall postponed their highly anticipated North American tour in order to give Mark E. Smith time to rest and heal. Smith had been hospitalized with a respiratory illness, but according to his management he was expected to make a full recovery and doctors had advised the legend that flying would likely compromise his ability to recuperate, so the tour was postponed.

The Fall returned to the road in the UK this week - with an ill-appearing but vocally-strong Smith performing in a wheelchair. Though Smith previously managed to performed in a wheelchair in 2009 while recovering from hip surgery, video from this week's gig paints a much more shocking and concerning picture.

Much love and healing vibes to Mark E. Smith.

Meanwhile The Fall release a massive singles collection The Fall Singles 1978 - 2016 on November 24th. Pre-order here.
