The Velvet Underground's second album White Light/White Heat was released 50 years ago today. Much like VU's debut album, the album was musically experimental with provocative themes and lyrics. And like the debut album, White Light/White Heat was commercially ignored yet managed to be massively influential and was a key player in laying the groundwork for alternative music.
