Morrissey gets stage-rushed as usual; media over-reacts

Morrissey has been on the road playing a handful of shows in California and Mexico. Last night the tour rolled through Copley Symphony Hall in San Diego and from fan accounts Morrissey and his band delivered an excellent and on-point performance. Unfortunately for fans the encore was cut short after fans rushed the stage during Moz's performance of "Everyday Is Like Sunday."

It appears from fan-filmed video that it was a typical scenario for the most part: Morrissey was singing, fans were running on stage, and he was taking it all in stride -- he is well accustomed to stage rushers/huggers over the years -- until an unusually aggressive fan rushed the stage, was apprehended by security and Moz was ushered off the stage, thus ending the show.

Though the unschooled media is trying to claim Moz was attacked and a punch was thrown, Morrissey's management refutes those claims, calling it a typical scenario of fans merely wanting to get closer to the legend. The alleged fan in question, Carlos Rodriguez, also confirmed on FB that his intentions were only out of love and passion for Morrissey, making this essentially a non-story, but for ambulance-chasing TMZ and their slow news day.
