Today is a Classic Alternative Birthday Bonanza!
Bernard Sumner, Michael Stipe, Robin Guthrie, Mark Hollis, and Beth Gibbons were all born on January 4th. All massive musical trailblazing forces in alternative music. Hard to imagine where we'd be musically without the gifts of these tremendously influential legends.
Also a bittersweet day as Mick Karn, bassist extraordinaire of Japan, Dalis Car and more died on this day in 2011.
