Michael Stipe and Rain Phoenix have teamed up to record a song titled "Time Is The Killer." The track will be featured on Time Gone, a double A-side single which also includes two previously unreleased songs by River Phoenix's band Aleka's Attic.
Rain revealed that though she's been friends with Stipe for some time, she was anxious about asking Stipe to appear on "Time Is The Killer." She told Rolling Stone:
“It was so close to home for me, it was difficult, but I got up the courage and asked. Stipe asked to hear the song,” she says. “He loved it. He said yes. I am still in shock. His voice is magic.”
Time Gone will be released as a limited edition 10" single (limited to 500 copies) and will be released on February 14th. View the tracklisting below and pre-order here.
