Ride debut yet another swoonworthy new single!

Yesterday Ride debuted "Charm Assault," the first new single from their forthcoming album. And today life gets even better because the shoegaze legends unleashed yet another glorious new track titled "Home Is A Feeling." "Home Is A Feeling" is a brilliant, mesmerizing track that channels Ride's classic vibe. Swoonworthy x infinity.

Andy Bell: "We felt comfortable going vintage on this tune because the album we are making has a pretty broad sonic scope. It’s a short and sweet, melodic tune, with stacked harmonies, reverbed-out guitars, slowed down drums, and a huge distorted bass sound. Erol put his sage-scented electronic wizards hat on to sample up some of our harmonies and make them into a synthesiser preset, which we ended up using on this and some of the other tunes too. We wanted this song to sound jet lagged, so everything on it was recorded with varispeed, either faster or slower than real time. It’s like 1966 Beatles meets 1988 MBV… in other words, Ride."

Mark Gardener: "a slow, wide-screen, sonically, layered, slowed motion warm wash. Like returning home as dawn rises totally exhausted and spangled after a long ..long ...big, great night out"

Bask in the exquisite glow of "Home Is A Feeling" below:

Ride's still untitled album is their first in 20 years. The record was produced by Erol Alkan and is currently being mixed by Alan Moulder. The album is expected out this summer on Wichita Records.

Ride debut new single "Charm Assault"

Ride are set to return with a new album this summer. Today Mark Gardener and Andy Bell appeared on BBC Music 6 with Steve Lamacq to discuss the still untitled new album which is currently being mixed by Alan Moulder. At the end of the interview Ride debuted an amazing brand new song "Charm Assault," their first new single in 20 years! Bell called the single "a kalidoscopic little tune" and revealed it was influenced in part by DIIV who opened for Ride on tour in North America. He also provided additional info on the track:

"Charm Assault is a pretty straightforward expression of frustration and disgust at the people who currently run our country. The tour in 2015 was a good way of reminding us what we were good at in the first place and Charm Assault feels like a natural continuation from our peak. When we started writing together again we tried to imagine we'd kept on making music all this time, and this was just the latest one."

"Charm Assault" is available now as a digital download and to stream. Head here for various options.

Ride's album will be released over the summer on Wichita Records, which brings Ride full circle -- Wichita was founded by Mark Bowen and Dick Green. The pair worked at Creation when Ride was on the legendary label back in the day.

R.Ring (ft Kelley Deal) announce LP, share video + tour dates

R. Ring (Kelley Deal of The Breeders and Ampline's Mike Montgomery) have released a few singles since forming in 2012, and this April they'll release their debut album. Ignite The Rest features 12 new songs that range from "plaintive meanderings to noise pieces to mid-tempo swoons to raucous barn-burners" and includes guest musicians Laura King, Leo DeLuca, Lori Goldston, and professional skateboarder Kristian Svitak.

The album's first single "Cutter" was the first track the duo recorded together back in 2012, but it took five years for them to recreate the perfect sound and vibe. The single's animated video was created by Seattle artists Clyde Petersen and Chris Looney, and according to R.Ring's Mike Montgomery, it "captures perfectly those feelings of shame, isolation and aggressive carelessness that the lyrics evoke." The video for "Cutter" can be viewed here.

Ignite The Rest arrives April 28th on vinyl, CD, and as a digital download. Pre-order here.

R. Ring hit the road in support of the release in April with Split Single (aka Jason Narducy) serving as support. The tour itinerary is posted below:

Depeche Mode premiere "Where's The Revolution" video

Depeche Mode premiered the official video for their new single "Where's The Revolution" today. Directed by Anton Corbijn, the politically charged video is the band's statement on "humanity and our place in that" and was shot in black and white with red accents (an effect previously seen in 1987's "Strangelove").

View the video and read Depeche Mode's commentary below:

"Where's the Revolution" is threaded with a dystopian vibe, punctuated by a muted color scheme and an army of marching dancers. Set in a harsh industrial landscape, the video provides a perfect visual commentary for what Dave Gahan referred to in a recent Rolling Stone interview as an album "...about humanity, and our place in that."

Depeche Mode's new studio album Spirit will be released March 17th. Pre-order options are provided here.

Finally, Depeche Mode are giving fans the opportunity to run their official Facebook page for a day. Details on that are posted here. [Use Facebook at your own risk.]
