Nine Inch Nails are headlining the Panorama festival in NYC on Sunday night, and the band has confirmed that NIN's set will indeed stream live (U.S. only). The live stream takes place on July 30th at 9:30 pm ET and can be accessed here.

Meanwhile, Vulture posted an excellent interview with Trent Reznor this week. Reznor discussed the music industry, how he explains his music to his kids, NIN's EP trilogy, and his perceived difference between consuming music back in day with the streaming present:

"I grew up in a little shitty town outside the range of college radio. I had FM radio, I had Rolling Stone, and later, I had a subscription to Village Voice, which seemed like it came from different world. That kind of cultural isolation made discovering music exciting. When I went to college in the early ’80s and discovered independent record shops, it was like, I’ve got so much catching up to do. I’d never heard of XTC, then I’d learn they had six albums for me to listen to.

I’d never want to discredit the feelings of the 16-year-old who completely relates to Lorde, but there’s something to be said for not having the ability to just skip to the next song, not having endless playlists, not having unlimited choice, not having to choose music over video games and endless television and looking at mindless humblebragging someone is doing on social media about their awesome life. You used to actually have to decide to spend time with music rather than just idly picking it from a plethora of options."

Liam Gallagher discussed his relationship with brother Noel in a new interview and again confirmed that he'd do Oasis in a second if he could. He told The Irish Times that he thinks it's possible to make music together again "maybe one day when we get back to being brothers" but admits "I'm not holding hope."

The interview is less than two minutes long and 1000000% worth viewing just to watch Liam Gallagher proclaim "I'm fucking Liam Gallagher."

Enjoy.

"My Name Is Ruin" is the first single from the forthcoming album Savage: Songs From A Broken World. Numan's 22nd studio album arrives on September 15th and is available to pre-order through Pledge Music, Amazon, and Numan's store.

Ultravox teased an announcement earlier this week and now they've unveiled the news -- they'll reissue two of their albums 1984's Lament and their 2010 live reunion album Return To Eden -- in October. The reissues will be released on standard and limited edition vinyl as well as expanded CD sets and are available to pre-order through Pledge Music.

Lament, the band's fourth studio album, has been repressed and cut from the original masters and will be available as a standard vinyl release (1LP), or on limited edition double vinyl with bonus 12" including single, b-sides, and promo material. The artwork for both editions will replicate the 1984 original design by the legendary Peter Saville. A 2CD remastered Definitive Edition of Lament was released in 2009. This edition will be reissued in October as an 8-panel digipak with expanded 12 page booklet, including lyrics and photos.

Return To Eden was captured live during Ultravox's reunion tour at the Roundhouse in London in 2009 and released in 2010. The 139 minute concert will be pressed on vinyl for the first time and will be released on standard double black vinyl and limited edition double clear vinyl. An expanded 2CD/1DVD edition will also be released and includes new packaging (8 panel digipak) and bonus DVD content with enhanced audio along with the 38 minute reunion documentary Building Eden.

Brilliant and exciting news for Verve fans -- guitarist Nick McCabe and drummer Pete Salisbury* are playing together again for the first time in almost 10 years. The pair are set to perform this Sunday, July 30th at the Kendal Calling festival in the U.K. and will be joined by Martin Blunt of The Charlatans on bass. The set is part of the Tim Peaks** stage at Kendal Calling, which also includes sets from Clint Boon (of Inspiral Carpets), The Sundowners, and more.

UPDATE: A fan-filmed clip of Nick McCabe, Pete Salisbury, Martin Blunt, and Denise Johnson performing "The Rolling People" is available to view below:

Meanwhile, as previously reported Verve are set to release expanded editions of Urban Hymns on September 1st in celebration of the album's 20th anniversary. Read more about that here.

*Pete Salisbury has been a non-official member of the Charlatans since the death of founding drummer Jon Brooks in 2013. Salisbury played on the band's last two albums -- 2015's Modern Nature and 2017's Different Days. Different Days also features legends Johnny Marr, Paul Weller, Stephen Morris, and Gillian Gilbert.

**Tim Peaks is the coffee company Charlatans' leader Tim Burgess launched in 2009. The company name Tim Peaks is a nod to the David Lynch series Twin Peaks. Burgess donates proceeds from coffee sales to the David Lynch Foundation.

New Order's beloved smash single "True Faith" was released on this day in 1987 and remains one of the all-time New Order greats.

Nine Inch Nails returned to the stage last night performing their first show since 2014. As part of the show, Trent Reznor paid tribute to David Bowie with an exquisite and emotional cover of  Bowie's Blackstar epic "I Can't Give Everything Away." Reznor revealed to the crowd in Bakersfield, California that he reworked the song after Bowie's death for his own closure, but never released it. Watch the performance below (the first video includes Reznor's comments; the second is a more close-up view).

Meanwhile, NIN release the new EP Add Violence tomorrow and perform at FYF Festival on Sunday, July 23rd. FYF has announced that they'll stream the festival live on Twitter, yes, Twitter -- this is the first festival to live stream on the platform. So far FYF has not confirmed whether Nine Inch Nails will be one of the acts to stream live. Also keep in mind the festival takes place in Los Angeles, so NIN's headlining set -- if it streams -- will take place very late (west coast time).

Full details on all three sets are posted below.

Morrissey: "You cannot continue to record and simply hope that your audience will approve, or that average critics will approve, or that radio will approve...you progress only when you wonder if an abnormally scientific genius would approve – and this is the leap The Smiths took with The Queen Is Dead."

Johnny Marr: "The Queen Is Dead was epic to make and epic to live."

Two CD set includes the original album material newly remastered (2017), plus a disc of demos, b-sides, and alternate versions. Of the 13 songs found on Disc 2, the following 8 songs are previously unreleased:

The boxset comes housed in a lift off lid box with a 12 page booklet. CD1 & CD 2 are identical to the 2CD set, and adds a third live audio disc, plus DVD with enhanced audio and the previously released film The Queen Is Dead.

Disc 1: newly mastered 2017 edition of original material
Disc 2: demos, b-sides, alternate versions

The Replacements unearthed a incredible concert captured live on a 24 track in 1986. Bootleg recordings of this intimate Hoboken show have circulated over the years on fan sites because it was indeed legendary -- the last show to feature the band's classic lineup of Paul Westerberg, Bob Stinson, Tommy Stinson, and Chris Mars (Bob Stinson was fired from the band -- or quit, depending on who you ask -- a short time later). The recording of this remarkable concert has sat in the vaults for over 30 years, but Warner/Rhino has finally dug through the archives and greenlit an official release.

The Replacements are famous for their live shows, which could be a hit or a drunken, drunken, sloppy miss. This particular concert is ON POINT and features the Replacements ripping through 29 songs, including an early version of "Can't Hardly Wait," which the band would eventually record (of course, with out Bob Stinson) and release on 1987's Pleased To Meet Me.

For Sale: Live At Maxwell's 1986 arrives October 6th and is available to pre-order now as a 2CD or 2LP set, or pre-order a digital copy.

Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark premiered another song from their forthcoming full length The Punishment of Luxury. The title track its accompanying animated video is the band's commentary on indulgence in 2017.  Andy McCluskey's explains:

"Most people in the Western world are materially better off than their predecessors ever were and yet we are unhappier. Now we have many possessions we don’t need because we’ve been persuaded to buy. This is the punishment of luxury."

Check out "The Punishment Of Luxury" from OMD below.

Nine Inch Nails premiered another song from the forthcoming Add Violence EP. "This Isn't The Place" is Trent Reznor at his finest -- it's haunting, slow and soothing, yet filled with endless amounts of pain, anguish, and despair. Phenomenal. Addictive.

The accompanying video for "This Isn't The Place" holds more clues to the linkage and theme of the NIN EP trilogy (perhaps the sequel to Year Zero?!?) Watch below:

On Friday, The Smiths began teasing yet another reissue of their seminal 1986 album The Queen Is Dead (the album, along with the rest of their catalog, was previously remastered by Johnny Marr and reissued in 2011).

Though no official details surrounding the release have been announced, the cat is somewhat out of the bag because an October 20th listing for two editions (2 CD and CD/DVD) appeared on the Amazon UK website. Amazon also posted (and quickly removed) details for the release, but not before fans were able to capture a screenshot.

If the removed tracklisting is to be believed, The Queen Is Dead has been remastered again, and it'll be released along with a disc of bonus material including demo versions and b-sides. The contents of the DVD portion still remain a mystery, however it's been rumored that it'll likely end up being a pro-shot recording of The Smiths' July 20th, 1986 gig at Salford University along with several videos from The Queen Is Dead era.

UPDATE (7/20): The Smiths have announced three expanded sets (2CD, 3CD/1DVD, and 5LP set) plus unleashed "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" (Take 1).

The tracklisting posted below is accurate. The third CD includes a live concert Live In Boston, and DVD portion is enhanced audio of The Queen Is Dead, along with  The Queen Is Dead A Film by Derek Jarman. Sadly the Salford University gig will NOT be included. Details are posted here.
