Spiritualized played a one-off show at Radio City Music Hall this past Friday night. The band played the 1997 cd, Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space, backed by an orchestra and a choir. Below is fan-captured video from the show:

Alex Chilton died March 17th from a suspected heart attack. Chilton's band, Big Star, was set to play the South by Southwest Music festival in Austin this weekend. Mike Mills (from REM) will join the surviving band members onstage for a Chilton tribute/memorial tonight in Austin. Chilton was 59 years old.

Mark Linkous from Sparklehorse committed suicide yesterday. His death has been confirmed by his family. Read the Rolling Stone report here.

Morrissey canceled yet another concert. Last night's show in Indio, California was canceled last night after having "blown out his voice." No word on whether he'll be rescheduling the concert. Meanwhile Moz is expected to appear on Lopez Tonight December 9th.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club will release a new cd titled Beat the Devil's Tattoo on March 9th. The band's fifth studio cd features new drummer Leah Shapiro. Check out the tracklisting here. BRMC launches a North American tour in February, however so far the tour itinerary doesn't include a Detroit date.
