Iggy Pop appeared on Anthony Bourdain's tv program Parts Unknown last Sunday to talk food, rock & roll, and Miami (Iggy currently lives in Miami). Bourdain revealed in a blog posting that he's a huge fan of the Stooges and was quite nervous to meet the legend. Bourdain writes:

"Of all the people I’ve met, I’ve never been more intimidated, more anxious, more star-struck than when I met Iggy Pop."

Though it took Bourdain three days to work up the nerve to approach Iggy for an interview, the conversation (and subsequent interview for Parts Unknown) was a positive one.  Bourdain gushed over meeting Iggy on his blog, and ended the piece with a heartfelt plea for viewers to listen to the Stooges!

"As a final note, I encourage anyone reading this to buy, first, the STOOGES’ classic, FUN HOUSE, which functions as a reminder of what rock and roll should be about — has always been about: sex, aggression, rage, self-hatred, frustration, heartbreak, love, and the occasional burst of pleasure. Then listen to the song PENETRATION, on their album RAW POWER, and feel your face melt right off your skull."
