Weekend, the fantastically fuzzy, post-punk band finally returned with the follow up to 2010's Sports, this week and it was indeed worth the wait. Their new album Jinx is a must listen for those who enjoy darker alternative bands like Joy Division, the Cure, Chameleons, and Jesus & Mary Chain. The album isn't quite as shoegaze/noise-heavy as Sports - but it's still full of brilliant gothy-retro sounds and is highly recommended listening. Also, it's worth mentioning that Jinx was written and recorded before Weekend relocated from San Francisco to New York City (the band's move isn't the reason for the different sound, instead they wanted to change things up to avoid repeating the past).

Grab Jinx from iTunes, Amazon, or Slumberland Records . It's also streaming on Spotify, Rdio, Sony Music Unlimited, and Google Play.
