The Stone Roses released their debut, self-titled cd in 1989. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the cd and the band has decided to release a special box set to commemorate this important milestone. Details are sketchy as to what will be contained in the set, however it looks like the box set will be released sometime in June.
The long awaited Chris Cornell solo disc, Scream, will drop March 10th. Don't miss Chris Cornell live and in the flesh April 14th at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor.
A new Sonic Youth cd--the band's 16th studio cd--will drop June 9th. The cd is expected to be titled the Eternal.
Rancid is still busy in the studio working on a new cd. The cd which is being produced by Brett Gurewitz, is expected to be released later this year.

Don't miss Rancid live and in the flesh this summer! The band will launch a summer tour with Rise Against on June 4th in Vancouver. The Detroit date is June 24th at the Fillmore. Keep it on 89x for official ticket information.
The now defunct Ministry will release a live album next month. Adios...Puta Madres will drop March 31st. The 12 track cd was recorded on the band's final tour.
Depeche Mode will return with a new cd, Sounds of the Universe, April 21st. There will be a few different versions to choose from:

  • the standard version
  • the special edition (standard version plus another cd and dvd)
  • the box set (special edition, plus yet another cd with demos and remixes, and 2 hardcover books with lyrics and the evolution of the cd
Depeche Mode will launch a North American tour on July 24th in Toronto. So far, a Detroit date has not been added to the itinerary.
