Exciting news for Swervedriver fans in Australia - the band are hitting the road for a handful of live dates where they'll perform the album Raise in full. No word on whether there will be more dates or if the tour will be expanded to other countries, but it certainly is good news to hear they're doing some live gigs. The tour itinerary is posted below via Faster Louder plus enjoy a full Swervedriver concert filmed during the band's February 2011 performance in Sydney.

UPDATE (on 6/6 @ 03:10am): Info announced here and stream new song
Trent Reznor has said in interviews that NIN is planning some extensive touring over the next year or so. The "extensiveness" of the tour seems to be confirmed by the departure of touring bassist Eric Avery who claims he left before the tour even began because he was overwhelmed with "the idea of leaving town for another year and a half, and with all the intensity that Nails demands."
So far a handful of live dates have been announced, including an appearance at (the very sold out) Lollapalooza festival in Chicago. More dates are expected to be announced very shortly. The current tour itinerary is posted below along with the fan filmed concert DVD of NIN's final concert.

The Stone Roses kicked off a new batch of live Euro dates last night by playing the first of two shows at La Cigale in Paris, and what a show it was! The Roses performed "Elephant Stone" live for the first time since reuniting and they dusted off the b-side "Going Down" which was originally released on the "Made of Stone" single (not 100% sure, but I don't think they've played "Going Down" since 1989)! The band also ripped through an epic 13 minute version of "Fool's Gold." The Stone Roses finish off their two night stand at at La Cigale tonight, then head to London for a pair of shows at Finsbury Park. Watch fan filmed video from the show below:

A game inspired by Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart" has been developed by Gordon Calleja. Calleja wanted to see if he could take a poem, song, or lyric and create a game around it. He eventually chose to tackle "Love Will Tear Us Apart" and used each verse of the song to create a new level of the game. 'Will Love Tear Us Apart' was released last week by Mighty Box Games as a free-to-play browser game. They hope the game will encourage users to "reflect on the darker side of love: mis-communication, emotional impasse and the sadness of separation," and proclaim "what guides this game is an ambition to frustrate, upset and sting the player into remembering the dark days preceding the death of a relationship."

Ministry announced the band's final album, From Beer To Eternity, will be released on September 6th. The album will be preceded by a three track EP which is due out later this month (details to be announced shortly). From Beer To Eternity features songs/riffs Ministry was working on prior to the tragic death of guitarist Mike Scaccia. Leader Al Jourgensen completed the album in March and stated previously that he will not be touring in support of the record.
For those craving a bit of live Ministry, a live recording of Ministry's set captured at last year's Wacken Open Air Festival will be released in August. Enjoy The Quiet: Live at Wacken 2012 features 11 songs and was recorded August 4, 2012 in Germany (Ministry's first live gig after Al Jourgensen's July 28, 2012 on-stage collapse in Paris, and one of the band's last concerts with Mike Scaccia). The recording will be released in Europe on CD, DVD, and vinyl on August 2nd.
Meanwhile, a Mike Scaccia baseball jersey is now on sale over at the official Ministry website, and a benefit/tribute for Scaccia is set to take place June 14th at Trees in Dallas on what would have been his 48th birthday. All proceeds from the sales of the t-shirt and tribute concert will go to Scaccia's widow Jenny and their children. Mike Scaccia died last December from a heart attack while on stage performing with Rigor Mortis.

Finally, in what promises to be the best read of the summer, Al Jourgensen's autobiography Ministry: the Lost Gospels According to Al Jourgensen will be released July 9th through DaCapo Books. The listing for the autobiography includes quotes by several artists influenced by Ministry, including Trent Reznor, Corey Taylor, David Draiman, Tommy Victor, and Burton C. Bell. Trent Reznor's quote is posted below:
"Ministry was the single most important influence in the sound and concept of Nine Inch Nails. When I heard Twitch I was intrigued. When I heard The Land of Rape and Honey it blew my mind. The production, presentation and the aggression broke all the rules and was truly inspiring."

Video of David Bowie's 1975 appearance on Dinah! has surfaced on You Tube. The episode featured Bowie's live performance of "Stay," followed by an interview with Dinah Shore, who was later joined by the Fonz (Henry Winkler) and Nancy Walker! Near the end of the bizarrely awesome episode, Bowie even learned some karate moves from an instructor. Watch the zaniness (complete with cigarette smoking) below:

Legendary designer Peter Saville was interviewed recently by The Talks and discussed graphic design, pop culture, and hooking up with Factory Records. During the interview Saville talked about how he was on his own when it came to designing the album sleeves/covers for Joy Division and New Order. Initially Stephen Morris gave him the idea for the Unknown Pleasures cover, but for subsequent records (Joy Division's Closer, then the New Order singles & albums), he was given the freedom to do what he chose:
"...the covers were about what I wanted to do, which was in some kind of weird, subconscious way about me and where I was going. New Order didn’t approve it, they rarely saw it...it was always, “Where is it? It’s late, it should have been done weeks ago, just get it to the fucking printer.” More often than not, New Order would get to see the covers when they were in the stores. And sometimes they liked them and sometimes they didn’t."

Morrissey was rumored to be in attendance at last night's Scott Weiland show in Los Angeles. So far there doesn't appear to be photographic proof other than this placecard, however according to Twitter and a brief mention in a review on Grunge Report, the legend was in the house.
Perhaps Moz showed up to see whether Weiland would perform a "Reel Around The Fountain" cover?

The sound of Hearts and Knives is “classic Visage” but with modern songs and style. There is the odd tip of the hat to modern production values but the sound is 1980-1982 Visage. It's Vintage keyboards and synthesizers all the way. There's not software synths on this record! The production by John Bryan and analogue synthesizer collector Sare Havlicek is firmly rooted in the '80s. Many of the tracks are instantly recognizable as Visage (Moogs and the obligatory CR78 drum sound feature on several).
