Third Man Records has announced plans to release a live album from The Stooges.
Live At Goose Lake: August 8th, 1970 is a previously unreleased high-quality soundboard recording of the legendary concert. The show was the final performance featuring the band's original lineup and took place near the release of Fun House. This recording is believed to be the only soundboard recording of the original Stooges' lineup.
As legend has it, the 1/4” stereo two-track tape of the concert was said to be found buried in a basement of a Michigan farmhouse along with other artifacts from the era. The audio has been restored by Vance Powell and was mastered by Bill Skibbe at Third Man Mastering.
Live At Goose Lake: August 8th, 1970 will be released August 7th - almost 50 years to the day of the original fiery concert and is available on standard black vinyl and CD. Rough Trade will be selling an exclusive limited edition version on purple vinyl; an "indie exclusive" version pressed on cream-colored vinyl version will also be available at select indie stores.

Meanwhile as previously announced earlier this year, a 50th anniversary deluxe edition vinyl box of Fun House will be released in July. The 15 piece set is limited to 1970 copies and was original scheduled for release July 17th. The date has been pushed back a few weeks to July 31st and is available to pre-order here. The collection was previously issued as a 7 CD box set in 1999.
