Get your popcorn ready!  There will be tons of Morrissey drama to report this July:  According to True To You, Morrissey's libel case against the NME will take place at the High Court in London July 16 - 19th.  The case stems from an interview published in NME in 2007 titled, "Big Mouth Strikes Again...Oh Dear, Not Again" in which, according to Morrissey, his words were taken out of context and fabricated to make him appear to be a racist.  The portion of the interview in question dealt with the subject of immigration and the following are some of the statements in question:

"[W]ith the issue of immigration, it's very difficult because although I don't have anything against people from other countries, the higher the influx into England the more the British identity disappears. If you travel to Germany, it's still absolutely Germany. If you travel to Sweden, it still has a Swedish identity. But travel to England and you have no idea where you are... If you walk through Knightsbridge you'll hear every accent apart from an English accent."

You can read more about Morrissey's statements and surrounding drama in this 2007 article in the Guardian.  But the bottom line is that Morrissey filed suit against the NME, and though NME has offered to apologize publicly, Morrissey would rather take the case to the High Court.

The four dates of the case require Morrissey's presence in court which may be problematic since they fall during Morrissey's world tour.  According to True To You, none of his concerts will be cancelled and Moz will fly in and out of London to attend the hearing each day.

[Prediction: he'll do this for the first gig, then cancel the rest of the shows - the dates in question are in Europe, how is he going to literally fly in and out each day?]

By the way Morrissey fans, True To You also posted the following:

Anyone wishing to offer support to Morrissey should make their presence known outside the High Court in London on these dates.
