Bernard Sumner and Stephen Morris will pay tribute to Ian Curtis on May 18th as part of an online two-hour streaming event.

Moving Through The Silence features Curtis' ex-bandmates discussing his life and legacy with Hacienda DJ Dave Haslam. The evening will also feature other tributes, music, and poetry curated by Haslam and organizers of Headstock (the music/mental wellbeing festival). Proceeds benefit the Manchester mental health charity Manchester Mind - Moving Through The Silence is free to stream, but those interested in donating can do so here.

May 18th marks the 40th anniversary of Ian Curtis' death and also coincides with the first day of this year's Mental Health Awareness Week in Britain.

Moving Through The Silence takes place Monday, May 18th from 3pm to 5pm ET (8pm - 10pm UK time) here.

Meanwhile Peter Hook is planning to mark the 40th anniversary with a streaming event to honor Ian Curtis however details have not yet been announced.

UPDATE: Peter Hook announced that So This Is Permanent, a three hour concert featuring his performance of every Joy Division song will stream on Joy Division's You Tube and Facebook page for 24 hours on Monday, May 18th beginning at 6am ET/12pm BST.
