Kraftwerk's classic 1978 track "The Model"/"Das Model" (released both in English and German) has been covered many times over the years, and now Portland duo Wampire has decided to take a stab at it.  Their true-to-form version will be released as the b-side to the 7" single titled "The Hearse" on March 5th.  Take a listen to Wampire's version now exclusively over at Consequence of Sound.

For a non-traditional (non-synthy) sounding version of "The Model," you can't go wrong with Big Black's cover which was released on 1987's Songs About Fucking:

Another favorite cover version is Ride's faithful cover, which appeared on the NME 40th anniversary cd compilation Ruby Trax The NME's Roaring Forty.

Tangerine Dream released a flowing, soothing version on their 2010 album Under Cover: Chapter One (which incidentally also includes a great cover of R.E.M.'s "Everybody Hurts")

Leave it to Rammstein to rock it out with an entertaining video to boot

Nothing quite beats the original versions however...
