Mad Season's 1995 album Above will be re-released as an expanded set on April 2nd - the deluxe version will be released as a 2 CD/1 DVD set.  The release includes the original material remastered, live concert footage, a documentary, plus three previously unreleased songs written in the 90s but never finished/recorded by Mad Season before the death of Layne Staley and John Baker Saunders.  Last year, the remaining members of Mad Season enlisted Mark Lanegan to help finish up the songs - Lanegan contributed lyrics and vocals on the three songs, and Peter Buck from R.E.M. also helped out on one of the previously unreleased tracks.  One of the tracks, "Locomotive" is streaming this week exclusively over at Rolling Stone - check it out here.

The Mad Season Above 2 CD/1DVD reissue is available to pre-order through the official Pearl Jam store and on Amazon.  Fans interested in just the digital version can pre-order through iTunes.  A double vinyl version will be released on Record Store Day.
