A new Morrissey interview was published yesterday and it's a great read, not just because it's a Moz interview, but because the piece is for teen site, The Rookie. Morrissey answered questions on arts, politics, teenage years, and even got in a few barbs in on pop music (also named Justin Bieber, Beyonce) and the Grammys.  He also was asked about huggers who attempt to jump on stage or get close to him at his live shows:

"In recent years I saw McDonna live, and no audience member reached up toward her to try to touch her. I see this so often with artists whom we’re told are global stars. It is a big lie. Or else, you might possibly be a big star, but you are not loved. My audience has an urgent need to touch, to shake hands, to move out of their seats, to defy so-called security, to make physical contact. They don’t simply sit and observe, but feel the urge to act. It’s a great compliment for me, and one that most Grammy winners could probably never imagine."

Yes, he called Madonna "McDonna."  Read the full interview, This Charming Man: An Interview With Morrissey here.

Earlier in the week, Morrissey announced rescheduled dates for his North American tour. The itinerary includes a few brand new dates, including a Detroit area stop at the Whiting Auditorium in Flint on April 8th. Tickets for the Flint show go on sale this Friday at 10am.
