The Smithereens are paying tribute to Pat DiNizio tomorrow (Saturday, January 13th) with a special concert/live streaming event titled Time And Time Again A Celebration of Pat Dinizio. The surviving members of The Smithereens will be performing at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, New Jersey and will be joined by special guests including Dave Davies of The Kinks, Patty Smythe and Scandal, Steven Van Zandt (Little Steven), and more, plus a video tribute is planned. A portion of the proceeds from the show will be donated to establish the Pat DiNizio Musical Performance Scholarship.

The show had been planned before DiNizio's tragic passing according to Van Zandt:

"I was set to host this Smithereens and Patty Smyth and Scandal show as part of Citi’s Underground Garage at the Basie series. With the sudden, tragic passing of Pat DiNizio, I think it’s appropriate that we take this moment to pay tribute to him. I will be honored to sing a few of his songs with the band, and I’m asking any friends of mine if they can make themselves available for a song or two."

The concert will stream live worldwide January 13th at 8PM ET. The stream will be hosted over at The Count Basie Theatre's website. For more details head here.
